Holy Spoons

The gift of hospitality sometimes comes with food.

Beef Gyros (Or… “Teach a Child to Cook…”)

“Teach a child to cook… They’ll make you dinner.”

Crockpot Gyros

Reedy Girl has been doing all kinds of kitchen adventures since she’s home from college and no summer job has materialized. The food has been great. As in, amazing, delicious and YUM. (And I should clarify… she is doing this herself. I’m not really teaching her much.)

I love it because I don’t have to cook. Or figure out what to cook. And she’s served up two amazing dishes already.

First was CrockPot Gyros! (Recipe here.)

Dang. It was AMAZING!

Messy, Delish and made great leftovers. There’s one serving of beef in the freezer. (You can torture me but I won’t divulge where I hid it.)

The Tzatziki Sauce was to die for and really easy to make. (I will NEVER buy it again – the grocery stores charge you 3 times what it cost her to make from scratch!)

So here’s my final request. NO ONE offer this young woman a summer job. I’ll really enjoy more of this!
